Halloween 2010
Brady was a shark, Ty was a dragon for the second year in a row (I wasn't going to argue with him when he said he wanted to be a dragon again..) Jared was a baseball player and I was a Hun princess.
I made the traditional dinner in a pumpkin and for breakfast we had pumpkin pancakes and green eggs.
Thanks to my mother in law for making Brady's cool shark costume. She totally saved me. Brady kept telling me he wanted to be a shark, but I had no idea how to pull it off..
Our cool neighbors came over to show off their awesome costumes. Oh and my mom was a nurse (it seemed convenient since she was on call anyways.)
I hope everyone had a great Halloween!!

Gluten free, egg free, dairy free birthday extravaganza! (also coconut and soy free..)
So today was my mom's birthday and I will take any excuse to have a party, but there was just one tiny problem...my mom is allergic to eggs, wheat, and dairy. So much for a birthday cake--right? Wrong! Thanks to my sister Jen for creating this recipe. Because of her skills, I was able to create a tasty birthday treat. .
Step one--the cake. This consisted of gluten free flour, maple syrup, cocoa, oil, baking soda, baking powder, salt, hemp milk, and lemon juice.
Step two: The rasberry sauce which consisted of fresh rasberries, water, sugar and lemon juice.
Step three: the chocolate sauce.
And that's how its done. Surprisingly enough, it even tasted pretty good. My mom said she would prefer it over a regular chocolate cake. So there is a lesson to be learned here...never never NEVER say never.

our new playground!!!
So my mom and I got this on KSL for $75 bucks!! We had to sand and refinish, but it ended up being quite the find...Ty and Brady have spent a lot of time out here already and I'm so glad we did it!! Oh and Jared (of course) helped take it apart, haul it home and then figured out how to reassemble it. I'm lucky to have a handy husband...

April 2010

Well to start out the month, we celebrated Easter in New Harmony with Jared's family. We also went down to Kanab to celebrate Jared's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary! I turned twenty eight this month, so that was a blast...Oh and I am officially signed up to run the San Fransisco half marathon. I have been more consistent with my running,so hopefully by July I will be ready to go! It's good to have something to work for.
It snowed here yesterday, so that was depressing. I should be done with the "play room" remodel by the next time I blog, so I will share my before and afters.
Jared has also been working out and has been an animal on the bench press. He maxed out at 330lb which is pretty crazy for his weight. Speaking of weight, he has also gained around twenty pounds, so that has been good.
I don't know if I mentioned this before, but we started a business called Utah Home Help. Jared pretty much does everything, but we work with a bunch of different people and coordinate home loan modifications, short sales, and debt consolidation. It's actually going pretty good, so that has been a blessing. If you know anyone who needs a home loan mod etc. send them our way! It's been rewarding for Jared to help people stay in their homes and prevent them from bankruptcy and/or foreclosure.
Tyler is full of energy, so I'm trying to find ways to channel it into positive activities (I'd love any ideas..) Brady has been talking more and more. He enjoys helping me unload the dishwasher when its still dirty, and unfolding my newly folded laundry.
Hope everyone is doing well and has a great month!
Love
Chelsea, Jared, Ty and Brady
