January 2010 Newsletter

This is about as good as it gets when it comes to family pictures :]

It's been a crazy month, but it's been fun. We went to California mid December and spent three whole days in Disneyland, and one day at the beach. We went with Jared's family. Ty was pretty brave and went on Splash Mountain twice!
We spent Christmas in New Harmony with Jared's parents and sisters. Then we drove back up to South Jordan and spent New Years with Jen, Rob, Lydia, Mom and Justin. Most of the crowd crashed early, but fortunately Jen and I stayed up to wake up Mom and go on the traditional walk around the block at midnight. It was my first time doing it, but I do have to say it is a cool tradition and well worth staying up for.
Jared and I had our sixth anniversary celebration on the 2nd, so that was cool. It's always nice to have an excuse to go out on a nice date. It actually seems like we've been married for longer than six years when I think about everything we have been through. Good times and hard times, but we are happy and excited to share the rest of our lives together and enjoy the journey..
Jared starts school this Monday and Ty is back in preschool. Brady still grunts, but he's pretty good at communicating that way. I am really happy about how the basement apartment turned out. This month I want to finish remodeling the playroom and the jacuzzi room. I love working days! It's worked out really well, and I'm so glad I was able to make the change!
Hope everyone is doing well.

Grandma's lesson

My Grandma has been hospitalized after several falls and other complications. I went to visit with her the other day. It was around seven at night and all the other visitors had left. I work in a critical care environment, but its totally different when it's someone you know and love. Although my Grandma was in obvious pain, all she could talk about were her blessings. She was most grateful for her testimony, and for the peace she had that everything would somehow be okay. She spoke about others she was concerned about and cared about. I think this was a true sign of her character. Even in the worst of times, she was at peace, unselfish and grateful. It helped me reevalute my situation. I am so grateful for my Grandma and the testimony she shared with me that night.

Some Christmas pics..

It was great to spend time with all my brothers and sisters and there new kids. The picture on top of us dancing was taken Christmas Eve. We had a "variety show" and Jen and I performed a little "routine." Tyler's moves were all on the spot. That kid has skills!

2008 Review

Well most of you already know about the biggest event of the year...the new member to our family. Brady Richard Willis. It has been fun adjusting to two kids around the house. Brady has been a great baby. He is pretty easy going and easy to entertain. He has been healthy and is sitting on his own and getting close to crawling at this point.
Tyler turned three this year and just last month he started preschool! Pretty crazy! He is going to a preschool through the Jordan School District because of his delayed speech. A bus comes straight to our house to bring him to and from school, and he has speech therapists work with him during school. He seems to enjoy it, and his teachers say he's doing great. I also think he's doing great! He is full of life and loves everyone. It's really hard not to smile and be entertained when you are around Tyler.
We are now approaching our third year owning the bowling alley. Jared has learned so much and has made a lot of progress. Lot's of improvements have been made, and a lot has been learned. When things go wrong Jared usually knows exactly what to do, so things get done more efficiently. Business has improved each year, so we going in the right direction.
Although very busy running the business, Jared always takes time to be home and spend time with the family. He is such a great father and husband.
I absolutely love being a mom! I am so grateful to have been blessed with two beautiful healthy boys! They remind me what's really important in life. Tyler loves to give hugs. His favorite is the "jump hug." He gets a running start and then right when he gets next to you he jumps up to give you a big hug. Seeing Brady smile and learn is so fun. It's been a fun year, and we are excited to see what the new one brings..

I hope everyone has a wonderful new year!
